Graham C. Alig practices in the area of intellectual property law with a focus on patent prosecution for clients in the pharmaceutical, chemical, biochemical, molecular biology, and healthcare industries.  Mr. Alig has substantial experience in recognizing the inventive qualities of a development, descriptively defining such inventiveness in a patent application with a comprehensive claim set to fully cover the client’s invention and prosecuting those claims into an  issued  patent.  The  parallel  prosecution  of  inventions  which  are  related  and  contain overlapping subject matter is a particular specialty of his.  Additionally, Mr. Alig provides clients with opinions on patentability of inventions and ideas.  Furthermore, Mr. Alig has experience in developing  a  strategic plan  for  establishing  and  advancing  a  patent  portfolio  for  his  client’s particular marketplace.

His clients include a world-leading pharmaceutical and biopharmaceutical company and Onward Kashiyama Ltd, Japan’s largest apparel company with a worldwide presence.  Mr. Markey counsels Onward Kashiyama in both trademark and patent matters.  Mr. Markey has extensive experience in reissue applications and reexamination proceedings, including multiple related reissue applications regarding transdermal dosage forms and merged reexaminations regarding heart catheters, paper pulp treatment, polyacrylonitrile production and an exercise treadmill, with excellent results. Mr. Markey's experience also includes well over a decade of intellectual property litigation and trial experience in a variety of technical fields.
